Welcome to the new 2010/2011 season
On behalf of Stockport County Football Club I would like to welcome you and your child to the new 2010/2011 season. My aim as Manager of the Centre of Excellence is to continue to develop the attitude, technique, skill and ability of every child. The coaching staff are available after sessions to answer any questions you may have, but if you need more than a brief chat please speak to them on the telephone or make prior arrangements. During training sessions please let the coaches work and your child will benefit from their full attention. I can't promise we'll shape them all into Professional footballers but they will certainly receive the best coaching possible at Stockport County. It is important that you should be aware that any players registered with us should not play for any other team at U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16 level with the exception of school, town, county and international. Signed players at U9, U10 and U11 level should see me specifically regarding their registrations to Junior Clubs. Players attending as a trialist should note that they attend for up to six weeks. After this period your child, along with yourself, will be informed of the outcome. If selected he will be asked to sign Centre of Excellence forms, if not selected he will be unable to attend although his details and performances will be monitored throughout his schoolboy years. If he progresses well then he could be invited back at anytime again on a trial period. Unfortunately, quite a number of children who attend will from time to time be released due to the fact that the Football League only allows a certain number for each group. It is a Centre of Excellence, and my ultimate target is for a child to achieve a Professional contract at Edgeley Park. There are a lot of hurdles along the way as well as thousands of players wanting a career in football, only the players with the correct attitude, ability and commitment will make it.
