Education and Welfare The Football Club takes the education and welfare of all its players very seriously and ensures that all members of staff are FA qualified, trained in Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid and have undertaken an FA CRB Unit Enhanced Disclosure. The Club has a written Child Protection Policy and Procedures and follows the FA Guidelines. The Club also recognises the importance of education to all young players and will place this as a priority, working together with schools and education providers to ensure that each player maintains the required focus and concentration to achieve their academic potential. In order to achieve this The Club will liaise closely with the player’s school and if we are informed of any problems arising at school we will work with them to resolve the situation. Players in the older age groups may be identified to take part in our schoolboys ‘day release’ programme through the ‘Gifted and Talented’ scheme. This will be arranged at the discretion of the players’ school and will also be subject to the player maintaining the required academic standards. A Welfare Officer has been appointed to oversee all aspects of the young players’ welfare including all matters relating to child protection. Any queries or concerns should be directed to Jacci Cooper on 07810 635483. | |
